PostgreSQL Database Developer

About this role

CGS is hiring an experienced PostgreSQL Database Developer to lead the migration from Oracle to Azure PostgreSQL while managing and optimizing database environments for a federal data analytics platform. You'll ensure system scalability, performance, and security while collaborating across teams to implement robust data solutions.

What you'll do

• Lead Oracle to PostgreSQL database migration efforts using Ora2Pg tool
• Monitor database systems proactively to maintain availability, performance, and security with minimal downtime
• Create and maintain technical documentation while translating business needs into technical solutions
• Perform database performance tuning and assist developers with optimization
• Manage PostgreSQL backup, disaster recovery, and maintenance processes including patching and upgrades
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define comprehensive technical requirements
