PostgreSQL Database Developer

About this role

CGS seeks an experienced PostgreSQL Database Developer to lead the migration from Oracle to Azure PostgreSQL while managing database environments for a federal analytics platform. You'll ensure system scalability, performance, and high availability while collaborating across teams in an Agile environment.

What you'll do

• Lead Oracle-to-PostgreSQL database migration using Ora2Pg tool and transform schema, packages, views, and triggers
• Set up, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL instances with backup and disaster recovery processes
• Optimize database performance through tuning and proactive system monitoring to minimize downtime
• Create and maintain technical documentation while translating business data needs into technical solutions
• Manage database maintenance including patching, upgrades, and resource allocation for high resilience
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define technical requirements and support system scalability
