Security Engineer

Chai Discovery is seeking a Security Engineer to lead the security function and collaborate closely with partners and internal teams to enhance security measures. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in security engineering, a strong technical background, and a collaborative mindset to integrate security within the product development process.

What you'll do

• Develop and own the security function end to end
• Represent Chai's security posture to pharma partners
• Drive security improvements based on partner reviews
• Collaborate with engineers on security architecture
• Automate compliance and vendor management processes
• Manage detection, response, and incident management

What they're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering
• Ability to write production-level code (Python, TypeScript)
• Experience in startup or high-growth environments
• Strong communication with CISOs and technical partners
• Knowledge of SOC 2 and ISO 27001 programs
• Judgment and instinct to integrate security proactively
• Experience in regulated industries is a plus
• Strong technical excellence and business acumen
