Software Engineer, Credit Risk Platform

About this role

Chime is hiring a Software Engineer to build backend services and internal tools for their Credit Risk Platform, supporting multiple credit products. You'll design reusable platform capabilities that enable safe product launches, integrate third-party data sources, and partner with risk and analytics teams to improve decisioning and monitoring systems.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain backend services for risk management across credit products including eligibility, limits, and policy enforcement
• Develop reusable platform primitives to reduce duplication when launching new credit products
• Build workflows enabling Credit Risk teams to adjust strategies with appropriate guardrails
• Integrate third-party data sources with validation, error handling, and resilience mechanisms
• Create instrumentation, dashboards, and alerts for risk and loss monitoring
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response as part of team support
