Software Engineer, Risk: Identity, Suspensions, & Closures

About this role

Join Chime's Trust and Safety Engineering team to build risk management systems protecting millions of members. You'll develop scalable backend services, partner cross-functionally with Risk and Compliance, and help evolve the platform's architecture while maintaining high code quality and member security.

What you'll do

• Write and maintain clean, well-tested backend code across the risk platform
• Design and build microservices and APIs powering identity, suspensions, and account closure domains
• Establish monitoring systems and dashboards to proactively detect issues
• Collaborate with Risk Operations, Compliance, Data, and Product teams on feature delivery
• Solve complex multi-domain problems requiring cross-team coordination
• Balance independent ownership with collaborative problem-solving under tight timelines

• 3+ years production software development at scale
• Ruby on Rails or comparable backend framework
• Transactional databases and caching systems
• Large-scale web application architecture patterns
