Full Stack Engineer

About this role

CivilGrid seeks a Full Stack Engineer to build end-to-end features for a civil infrastructure platform serving utilities and engineering firms. You'll work across the entire stack—from databases to React frontends—designing systems for mapping, data processing, and real-time collaboration while helping establish core technical foundations for a rapidly scaling Series A startup.

What you'll do

• Design and build complete features from database to user interface using React and Node.js
• Work across web/mobile apps, mapping interfaces, data pipelines, and collaboration tools
• Optimize performance and tune systems across the full stack
• Implement monitoring, analytics, alerting, and logging for system reliability
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers
• Collaborate directly with customers and product leadership on feature direction

What they're looking for

• JavaScript or TypeScript
• React
• Node.js
• PostgreSQL (preferred)
• Geospatial frameworks (PostGIS, GeoJSON, mapping libraries)
• System design and performance optimization
• B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or related field
