About this role
Clasp, a venture-backed fintech startup focused on education financing and economic mobility, seeks a Data Engineer to design and maintain robust data pipelines processing hundreds of millions in student loan and employment data. You'll own full-stack responsibility for data infrastructure in a DevOps culture, working with modern tools like Airflow, dbt, and BigQuery to support analytics and business operations.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines ingesting financial, education, and employment data
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and timeliness across internal teams and external partners
- Develop automated testing and monitoring to detect data errors and upstream issues
- Partner with finance, operations, and business development teams to deliver reliable datasets
- Implement data anonymization and security processes for sensitive information
- Optimize cloud infrastructure, storage, and compute resources for performance and cost efficiency
