Substation O&M Field Engineer

About this role

This role involves managing the operation, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage substation equipment for wind and solar power plants across Texas and the central U.S. The engineer will provide technical support, develop safety procedures, and train site personnel while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot and provide technical support for high-voltage substations supporting renewable energy facilities
• Develop Lock-out, Tag-out, HV switching, and safety grounding procedures for substations
• Create written maintenance procedures for common tasks like circuit breaker and transformer testing
• Instruct and train site personnel on substation equipment operation and system protection
• Perform electrical testing and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Report to the Manager of MV and HV Engineering
