Founding AI Engineer

About this role

Join an early-stage consumer social startup as a founding AI engineer to build matching algorithms and multi-agent systems that connect young people for real-life hangouts. You'll architect the core AI infrastructure powering a rapidly growing platform across US university campuses, working on social graphs, personalization, and orchestrated communication workflows.

What you'll do

• Design and optimize matching systems using collaborative filtering and graph embeddings to create compatible friend groups
• Build social graph infrastructure processing millions of user interaction data points
• Develop multi-agent orchestration systems managing user lifecycle workflows across messaging platforms
• Integrate third-party APIs (Instagram, iMessage, WhatsApp, TikTok) into scalable workflows
• Apply reinforcement learning to continuously improve personalization based on real-world outcomes
• Contribute to AI agent interaction design and human-AI experience optimization
