Code Metal

Solutions Engineer

About this role

Code Metal seeks a Solutions Engineer to bridge the gap between their code translation platform and real-world customer applications in defense, aerospace, and automotive sectors. You'll own end-to-end technical execution of proofs of concept, translating complex algorithmic workloads (DSP, RF, communications) onto heterogeneous compute targets like GPUs, FPGAs, and edge systems, then help transition validated solutions toward production.

What you'll do

  • Build and lead proofs of concept by translating customer requirements into working technical solutions using Code Metal's platform
  • Investigate unfamiliar technical domains, prototype approaches, and de-risk solution paths through hands-on integration and feasibility testing
  • Implement and optimize compute-intensive algorithms across heterogeneous systems (CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, edge SoCs) for performance and resource constraints
  • Profile, debug, and tune PoCs across hardware and software layers to meet latency, throughput, memory, and power requirements
  • Document and codify successful patterns and playbooks from PoCs to accelerate future customer engagements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Solutions Architects, product, and engineering teams to deliver technical demos and validate product differentiators

What they're looking for

  • Systems-level debugging across CPU/GPU/FPGA and software/hardware boundaries
  • DSP, RF, communications, and signal processing algorithms
  • Heterogeneous computing and performance optimization
  • C/C++ and low-level software development
  • Rapid prototyping and feasibility analysis
  • Technical communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Problem decomposition and analytical thinking
  • Embedded systems and edge device integration

Likely interview questions

  • Describe a time you debugged a complex system spanning multiple hardware platforms or software layers. How did you isolate the issue?
  • Tell us about a project where you had to rapidly learn an unfamiliar technical domain and build a working prototype. What was your approach?
