Analytics Engineer

About this role

Join Coinbase's Compliance Data team as an Analytics Engineer to build and maintain production-grade data foundations that support regulatory obligations. You'll own the full lifecycle of data models and pipelines for the Compliance Data Mart, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for regulatory reporting while automating manual workflows into scalable infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain production data models and pipelines covering user, transaction, and compliance data across product lines
• Implement data quality frameworks including contracts, validation logic, and monitoring to prevent downstream issues
• Partner with upstream engineering teams to resolve data gaps and accommodate product changes at the source
• Support live regulatory exams, audits, and time-sensitive regulator requests with accurate data delivery
• Automate recurring manual workflows into scalable pipelines and self-serve tools for downstream teams
• Take accountability for data integrity across the entire stack

• SQL and Python proficiency
• dbt (data build tool)
• Modern data warehouse platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, or similar)
• Data quality frameworks and data contracts
• Production data pipeline development and maintenance
• Reconciliation and monitoring implementation
• Generative AI application with human oversight
• Experience with regulatory and financial reporting requirements
