About this role
Crusoe seeks a Mechanical Engineer III to design and manage production tooling and fixtures for modular data centers and power distribution systems. You'll bridge manufacturing and design engineering, owning fixture projects from concept through production support while driving continuous improvement across assembly operations.
What you'll do
- Design jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids using SolidWorks with complete documentation and BOMs
- Participate in DFM/DFMA reviews and provide manufacturability input on tooling design
- Coordinate first-article inspections and manage tooling qualification with vendors
- Author work instructions and setup sheets for production technicians with ECO synchronization
- Troubleshoot tooling issues on the production floor and implement root-cause solutions
- Maintain tooling revision history in SolidWorks PDM and execute engineering change orders

- SolidWorks 3D modeling (sheet metal, weldments, and assemblies)
- ASME Y14.5 GD&T knowledge and application
- Fixture and jig design
- Machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication knowledge
- Technical documentation and drawing creation
- SolidWorks PDM experience
- First-article inspection coordination
- Root-cause analysis and problem-solving
