About this role

Cuesta Partners seeks an experienced Data Engineer to design and build scalable data pipelines for diverse clients in a consulting environment. You'll develop end-to-end data solutions using modern technologies, ensure data quality and integrity, and collaborate with leadership to deliver strategic analytics capabilities across multiple business units.

What you'll do

• Develop and optimize data pipelines following company standards and data architect specifications
• Ingest and transform datasets for business domains, ensuring scalability, security, and quality
• Diagnose and resolve system performance issues, supporting critical operations and releases
• Stay current with emerging technologies and propose improvements to data infrastructure
• Mentor junior developers and establish communication protocols with delivery teams
• Ensure compliance with IT auditing and data governance procedures

What they're looking for

• SQL development and querying
• ETL tools (Keboola, FiveTran, Matillion, DBT, SSIS, Alteryx)
• Data warehouse platforms (Snowflake, SQL Server, BigQuery, AWS Redshift, Synapse)
• Python or R scripting
• Data modeling and relational database design
• Systems design and data management
• Spark, Hadoop, or NoSQL (preferred)
• Critical thinking and problem-solving
