AI Engineer

About this role

Curie is seeking an AI Engineer to build the clinical AI backbone of a telehealth platform, designing agentic workflows, RAG systems, and safety infrastructure that power personalized patient care. You'll own Python and Go services handling multi-step clinical reasoning, medical knowledge retrieval, and HIPAA-compliant data pipelines in a well-funded, fast-moving startup.

What you'll do

• Design and implement multi-step AI agent pipelines for patient intake, medical history synthesis, and clinical recommendations
• Build and optimize RAG systems that ground AI outputs in medical guidelines, drug references, and treatment protocols
• Develop Python microservices that integrate clinical data, LLM APIs, and healthcare infrastructure with proper data handling
• Create observability layers including tracing, logging, and safety validation to ensure AI outputs meet clinical standards before reaching users
• Build data pipelines for ingesting, normalizing, and reconciling health data from EHR integrations while maintaining HIPAA compliance
• Manage session and memory systems for long-running clinical agents with full auditability and continuity
