Data Platform Engineer

About this role

Build data infrastructure from the ground up at Cursor, a fast-growing AI coding automation company. As an early Data Platform Engineer, you'll own the lakehouse architecture, optimize massive-scale data ingestion, and create reliable systems that support the data team and business stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Operate and optimize Databricks lakehouse infrastructure as data volume and team size scales
• Build and optimize ingestion systems for product data and third-party business systems at TB scale
• Design observability, alerting, and operational standards across data infrastructure
• Evaluate and implement data tooling (BI platforms, catalogs, ingestion tools, reverse ETL)
• Partner with cross-functional teams to convert data problems into scalable platform solutions
• Manage orchestration infrastructure (Dagster) for growing data science and analytics teams
