About this role
Dandy seeks an experienced Process Engineer to develop and optimize CNC machining workflows for patient-specific dental components, from prototype to high-volume production. You'll design precision 5-axis toolpaths, integrate automation systems, and lead manufacturing scalability for custom biocompatible materials at micron-level tolerances.
What you'll do
- Program and validate 5-axis CNC machining processes for complex dental geometries with micron-level precision
- Optimize toolpaths, feeds, speeds, and cutting strategies for ceramics and biocompatible alloys
- Develop process plans including tooling, fixtures, validation protocols, and statistical process control
- Integrate automation systems (robotic loading, vision inspection, in-line probing) for lights-out manufacturing
- Lead root cause analysis and yield improvement using structured problem-solving and SPC tools
- Collaborate with R&D, design, and cross-functional teams to scale custom parts to tens of thousands daily
What they're looking for
- CNC programming and CAD/CAM software (NX, Mastercam, ESPRIT, Hypermill)
- 5-axis milling, toolpath strategy, and cutting dynamics
- G-code and machine control programming (Fanuc, Fagor, Siemens macros)
- Statistical process control (SPC) and process validation
- Fixture design and precision workholding solutions
- CNC machine tool evaluation and procurement
- Medical device or dental manufacturing experience
- Manufacturing automation and robotics integration
Benefits
- Remote work opportunity with 30% travel to vendors and facilities
- Comprehensive and inclusive benefits package
