About this role
Datadog seeks an experienced Federal Support Engineer to deliver expert technical support for mission-critical public sector workloads deployed across complex cloud environments. You'll troubleshoot sophisticated issues, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a trusted advisor to highly regulated government customers while working hybrid from Denver.
What you'll do
- Resolve complex technical issues across Datadog's 1000+ integrations in highly constrained public sector environments
- Engage customers through multiple channels (tickets, chat, calls, screensharing) and handle escalation cases
- Investigate and diagnose root causes across APIs, networking, cloud infrastructure, and operating systems
- Mentor junior team members and serve as their escalation partner
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success teams to validate bugs and drive adoption
- Participate in on-call rotating schedule with weekend availability
What they're looking for
- Technical support in SaaS and public sector regulated environments (5+ years)
- APIs and RESTful interfaces
- Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid/multi-cloud troubleshooting
- Networking, distributed systems, and microservices architecture
- Root cause analysis across infrastructure and application layers
- Written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences
- Mentoring and team leadership
