About this role
Datadog seeks a People Systems Developer to architect and deploy AI-driven workflows that revolutionize hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee support. You'll prototype with LLMs and automation frameworks, then scale validated solutions into production across integrated HR platforms. This hands-on role offers high autonomy to measurably improve People team efficiency through responsible AI implementation.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and deploy AI-enabled workflows from proof-of-concept through full production adoption
- Rapidly prototype using LLMs, APIs, and automation frameworks, then migrate to secure, scalable systems
- Integrate AI capabilities across Workday, Greenhouse, Slack, Snowflake, Jira, and Google Workspace
- Partner with stakeholders across People Analytics, HRBPs, IT, Legal, and Security to ensure compliance and responsible AI
- Evaluate and experiment with AI tools and vendors to identify best solutions
- Enable the broader People team to adopt AI effectively while maintaining governance standards

- LLM development and integration with frontier models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini)
- API integration and workflow automation tools (n8n, Zapier, Workato)
- Software or systems engineering with 3-5 years experience
- HR systems knowledge (Workday, Greenhouse preferred)
- Coding agents and CLIs (Claude Code, Cursor)
- Independent problem-solving in fast-moving environments
- Privacy, governance, and responsible AI practices
- Stakeholder communication and requirements translation
