Software Engineer (Croatia)

About this role

Datatonic seeks an experienced Software Engineer to design and deploy full-stack GenAI applications on Google Cloud, bridging the gap between complex business requirements and production-grade solutions. You'll architect AI-integrated systems, mentor cross-functional teams, and own the entire application lifecycle while developing your path toward senior leadership.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end applications integrating LLMs and AI capabilities
• Create High-Level Designs and data flow diagrams for Google Cloud solutions
• Build and maintain production-grade, well-tested software with CI/CD automation and monitoring
• Translate ambiguous client needs into technical roadmaps and architectural decisions
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, DevOps, and Analytics teams
• Mentor peers and communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders

What they're looking for

• 3+ years software engineering experience
• Modern frontend frameworks (React, Svelte/SvelteKit, or Angular)
• Backend development (Python with FastAPI/Flask, or Node.js)
• REST/GraphQL APIs and microservices architecture
• SQL and NoSQL database design
• Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, GKE, Firebase)
• Security practices (OAuth, OIDC, OWASP)
• High-level system design and architectural thinking
