Software Engineer, Security

About this role

David AI, a rapidly growing audio data research company founded by former Scale AI engineers, seeks a Security-focused Software Engineer to build and maintain the infrastructure, observability, and reliability foundation for their platform. You'll own monitoring and alerting systems, design secure cloud infrastructure, and establish SRE practices across the organization as it scales.

What you'll do

• Own observability stack including monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing to provide system visibility
• Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform and DevOps tools
• Partner with product and platform teams to build resilient systems from inception
• Lead improvements to deployment pipelines, CI/CD systems, and incident response processes
• Define and evolve SRE practices, reliability culture, and operational excellence standards
• Support real-time pipelines handling terabytes of audio data

What they're looking for

• Site Reliability Engineering or Infrastructure/Platform Engineering (3+ years)
• AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud networking
• Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar)
• Security best practices in production systems and cloud
• CI/CD pipeline design and management
• Incident management and on-call practices
• PostgreSQL and modern backend technologies
• Collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams
