Customer Engineer, Agent Builder

About this role

Decagon is hiring a Customer Engineer, Agent Builder to own end-to-end delivery of enterprise AI agent implementations. You'll configure and deploy production-grade conversational AI agents for major customers, working across technical requirements, integrations, and iterative refinement.

What you'll do

• Execute full lifecycle AI agent builds from scoping through launch and optimization for enterprise customers
• Write agent configuration artifacts and tune behavior for quality, reliability, and business impact
• Set up, test, and validate customer system integrations including custom tools and workflows
• Configure guardrails to ensure safe, compliant, and predictable agent performance
• Interface with senior customer stakeholders to define requirements and drive delivery timelines
• Partner with internal teams (APMs, Engineering, Design, GTM) to influence platform improvements based on real-world customer needs
