Data Engineer

About this role

This remote position requires a Data Engineer to design and operate secure, scalable data pipelines and streaming systems on Kubernetes for a U.S. government contractor. The role demands 5+ years of production data engineering experience, DoD security clearance eligibility, and U.S. citizenship.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain ETL/ELT data workflows with emphasis on data quality and secure handling of sensitive information across AWS and on-premises environments
• Deploy and operate data streaming technologies like Kafka and Kinesis on Kubernetes using declarative infrastructure definitions
• Architect reliable and scalable data layer systems with backup, recovery, and monitoring strategies
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and scaling using Terraform while collaborating with platform and security teams
• Ensure compliance with DoD regulations and industry security standards for data layer systems
• Stay current with emerging technologies in containerization, Kubernetes, and data engineering
