About this role

Defense Unicorns is hiring a Platform Engineer to build and maintain cloud-based Kubernetes infrastructure for a U.S. government contractor. You'll own CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, identity management, and monitoring while supporting application teams and ensuring platform security and reliability. This role requires an active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

What you'll do

  • Build and manage Kubernetes clusters on AWS/EKS/RKE2 with containerized deployments
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform or similar tools for consistent resource provisioning
  • Design and improve GitLab CI pipelines, runners, and automated deployment workflows
  • Manage identity and access systems including Keycloak configuration and user onboarding
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging to ensure platform health and incident response
  • Collaborate with application teams on deployment troubleshooting and platform integration issues
