Software Engineer, Golang

About this role

Defense Unicorns is hiring a Software Engineer specializing in Golang to join the UDS Registry team. You'll design and deploy features for mission-critical software package management systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams and the open source community while maintaining production systems.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and deploy features for UDS Registry and related tools (Pepr, Lula)
• Collaborate with internal engineers and open source community on feature development and bug fixes
• Own architecture decisions and ensure technical quality standards across the team
• Integrate software with defense systems while maintaining security and interoperability
• Participate in production on-call rotation and create comprehensive technical documentation
• Mentor team members and influence product direction based on user needs and system constraints

• System design, APIs, and databases
• Cloud architecture (AWS, Azure)
• Kubernetes concepts
• OCI Specifications (Image and Distribution)
• Supply chain security (SBOMs, security scanning)
• Technical documentation and communication
• 5+ years software engineering experience
