Forward Deployed Engineer

About this role

Dialpad seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to transform AI opportunities into production-ready agent deployments for enterprise customers. You'll work embedded with customers to design, build, integrate, and operationalize AI agents that resolve real workflows, bridging platform capabilities with measurable business outcomes.

What you'll do

• Convert pre-sales opportunities into detailed delivery scopes, technical plans, and phased implementation roadmaps
• Map customer workflows, exception paths, escalation rules, and human-in-the-loop controls with technical and operational teams
• Design and build AI agent solutions including orchestration logic, prompt architecture, retrieval flows, and decision logic
• Implement integrations with customer data sources, APIs, CRMs, ERPs, and enterprise knowledge systems
• Develop evaluation methods, guardrails, and acceptance criteria to measure agent performance and production readiness
• Execute iterative testing, failure analysis, and performance tuning to improve quality, latency, and cost
