About this role
DiDi Autonomous Driving seeks a Software Engineer to develop core motion planning and decision-making systems for Level 4 autonomous vehicles. You'll design algorithms spanning behavioral reasoning, trajectory optimization, and path/velocity planning while collaborating across perception, prediction, and control teams.
What you'll do
- Design and implement core motion planning logic for high-level vehicle actions (lane changes, merges, yields, agent interactions)
- Develop and optimize motion planning algorithms integrating geometry and velocity reasoning into cohesive trajectories
- Architect geometry systems for generating feasible, compliant paths and velocity systems for safe speed profiles
- Model complex driving scenarios and agent interactions to build robust world models for behavioral planning
- Design cost functions for trajectory ranking balancing ETAs, comfort, and safety
- Analyze, test, debug system performance across scenarios and lead root cause investigations

Benefits
- Base salary: $141,463–$235,182 (Software Engineer) or $169,783–$282,264 (Senior Software Engineer)
