Job summary

The Solutions Architect (SA) role is established to support DigiCert’s most strategic, complex, and high-impact opportunities by providing deep technical architecture, system design expertise, and cybersecurity thought leadership.

As DigiCert’s portfolio, customer scale, and innovation velocity continue to grow, the SA role ensures we can:

  • Design scalable, enterprise-grade trust architectures
  • Meet advanced customer requirements earlier in the sales cycle
  • Influence product direction with real-world architectural insight
  • Position DigiCert as a trusted authority in digital trust and cybersecurity
  • Help drive and adopt AI-driven capabilities

This role is intentionally distinct from Solutions Engineering and does not own day-to-day customer engagements. Instead, the SA is deployed selectively where architectural rigor, executive-level credibility, and cross-functional alignment are critical.

Strategic Objectives

The Solutions Architect will:

  1. Increase win rates in large, complex, and strategic opportunities
  2. Improve architectural quality and scalability of customer solutions
  3. Accelerate innovation adoption, including AI-driven capabilities
  4. Strengthen DigiCert’s position as a trusted cybersecurity and digital trust advisor
  5. Create leverage across GTM by enabling repeatable, high-quality solution patterns

What you will do

Core Responsibilities

1. Architecture & Design Leadership

  • Lead deep technical architecture sessions with enterprise customers, including whiteboarding and future-state design workshops
  • Design scalable, secure architectures leveraging DigiCert products and platforms
  • Address complex integration, automation, compliance, and lifecycle challenges
  • Validate system designs for performance, resilience, and security best practices
  • Understand strategic partners cybersecurity go to market, competencies & capabilities to align DigiCert solutions to partner practice areas and service offerings, enabling joint business outcomes.
  • Leverage Tech Alliance Partnerships such as Thales, F5, NetScaler to showcase integrations, leading to accelerated route to market.

2. Strategic Customer Engagement

  • Engage with senior cybersecurity stakeholders (CISO, security architecture, platform, and infrastructure leaders)
  • Act as DigiCert’s senior technical representative in high-value opportunities
  • Support executive-level security, trust, and risk discussions with prospects and customers
  • Technical evangelist, engaging with key stakeholders within our most strategic partners to gain mindshare, deepen relationships and accelerate partnerships.

3. Product & Engineering Alignment

  • Translate customer architecture requirements into actionable product feedback
  • Partner with Product Management to validate roadmap decisions against enterprise needs
  • Identify recurring architectural gaps and propose solution or product enhancements
  • Serve as a trusted GTM voice into Product and Engineering planning discussions

4. Innovation & AI Enablement

  • Collaborate with innovation teams on emerging capabilities, including AI-driven use cases
  • Evaluate and validate AI applications in trust, security automation, and operational workflows
  • Provide architectural guidance on responsible, secure, and scalable AI adoption
  • Support early customer validation of innovative features and proof-of-concept designs

5. AI-Driven Productivity & Internal Enablement

The Solutions Architect is expected to actively adopt and promote AI tools to improve productivity and scale impact, including:

  • Using AI to accelerate architecture design, documentation, and diagram generation
  • Leveraging AI for research, competitive analysis, and pattern identification
  • Creating reusable, AI-assisted reference architectures and design templates
  • Enabling SEs and AEs with AI-enhanced technical content and solution guidance
  • Partnering with internal teams to define best practices for AI usage within GTM
  • Understand partner AI capabilities, aligning DigiCert use cases that may compliment / enhance these offerings.

Engagement Model & Scope

The SA:

  • Owns: Architecture, system design, trust models, technical strategy
  • Supports: Large/strategic deals, innovation initiatives, product alignment
  • Does Not Own: Day-to-day SE activities, routine demos, or standard POCs

The SA is engaged selectively during:

  • Whiteboarding and architecture design sessions
  • Complex or high-risk opportunities
  • Executive cybersecurity discussions
  • Innovation and AI-driven initiatives

Primary customer ownership remains with the Account Executive and Solutions Engineer.

What you will have

Key Capabilities & Profile

  • Deep experience in cybersecurity, digital trust, PKI, identity, and secure architectures
  • Strong understanding of enterprise systems, APIs, automation, and cloud/hybrid environments
  • Proven ability to communicate complex designs to executive and technical audiences
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve efficiency, insight, and solution quality
  • Influential, collaborative, and comfortable operating across organizational boundaries

Success for the Solutions Architect role will be measured by:

  • Improved outcomes in strategic and enterprise opportunities
  • Positive feedback from customers, SEs, and sales leadership
  • Reduction in technical risk during deals
  • Increased alignment between customer needs and product direction
  • Adoption of repeatable architecture and AI-enhanced workflows across GTM

The total on-target earnings (OTE) for this role, including base salary and variable incentive compensation (at 100% target performance), are outlined below.
