About this role
DoorDash Labs is hiring an Electrical Distribution Engineer to design and develop electrical distribution systems for autonomous delivery robots. The role combines electrical design expertise with hands-on prototyping, covering harness development from concept through production release.
What you'll do
- Own harness architecture and design from concept through production release
- Perform electrical analysis including wire sizing, voltage drop, and fuse coordination
- Develop schematics and harness designs using tools like Zuken E3
- Build, modify, and validate prototype harnesses; troubleshoot electrical issues during vehicle testing
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive design improvements for reliability and manufacturability
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers on design-for-manufacturing and production ramp
What they're looking for
- Wire sizing and voltage drop analysis
- Connector and terminal selection
- High-speed data systems and shielding techniques
- Zuken E3, CATIA Electrical, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools
- Hands-on wire harness assembly, modification, and troubleshooting
- Understanding of Tier 1 harness manufacturing processes
- Electrical systems design fundamentals
- Cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced environments
