Electrical Distribution Engineer (Harness / EDS)

About this role

DoorDash Labs is hiring an Electrical Distribution Engineer to design and develop electrical distribution systems for autonomous delivery robots. The role combines electrical design expertise with hands-on prototyping, covering harness development from concept through production release.

What you'll do

• Own harness architecture and design from concept through production release
• Perform electrical analysis including wire sizing, voltage drop, and fuse coordination
• Develop schematics and harness designs using tools like Zuken E3
• Build, modify, and validate prototype harnesses; troubleshoot electrical issues during vehicle testing
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive design improvements for reliability and manufacturability
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers on design-for-manufacturing and production ramp

What they're looking for

• Wire sizing and voltage drop analysis
• Connector and terminal selection
• High-speed data systems and shielding techniques
• Zuken E3, CATIA Electrical, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools
• Hands-on wire harness assembly, modification, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of Tier 1 harness manufacturing processes
• Electrical systems design fundamentals
• Cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced environments
