Software Engineer, Data Platform (All Teams)

About this role

DoorDash seeks a Software Engineer for the Core Data Platform team to design and operate scalable data infrastructure supporting analytics and real-time personalization. You'll work on data mobility, ingestion, and governance frameworks while enabling engineers and analysts across the company to derive reliable business insights from massive datasets.

What you'll do

• Design and operate scalable compute and ingestion frameworks using Spark, Flink, Kafka, and Airflow
• Drive vision and strategy for data platform frameworks handling rapid business growth
• Build abstractions and tools that simplify data workflows for engineers, analysts, and ML practitioners
• Establish data quality, cataloging, privacy, and compliance standards
• Collaborate with stakeholders using the platform to inform architecture decisions
• Improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of analytical data systems

• Apache Spark, Kafka, Flink, or Airflow
• Big data infrastructure and governance
• Streaming and batch processing systems
• Lakehouse or data lake OLAP technologies (Iceberg, Clickhouse, Cassandra)
• AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor)
• System design for high-scale reliability and cost efficiency
• Experience with open-source data technologies
• Data quality and metadata management
