Founding Design Engineer

About this role

Dryft seeks a Founding Design Engineer to create intuitive user interfaces for AI-powered manufacturing automation systems. You'll partner with leadership and customers to transform complex industrial data into transparent, trustworthy experiences that drive confident decision-making.

What you'll do

• Design and build end-to-end user interfaces for AI agents in manufacturing operations
• Translate complex industrial data and decision logic into intuitive user experiences
• Collaborate directly with CEO, CTO, and customers to understand needs and validate solutions
• Develop full-stack features with emphasis on frontend architecture and design
• Iterate on product based on customer feedback and best-in-class design patterns
• Own design decisions from concept through production deployment

• Frontend engineering (React, TypeScript, modern web tools)
• Product design and UX sensibility
• Full-stack development capability (backend a plus)
• Backend Python experience (FastAPI preferred)
• Customer collaboration and user research
• Attention to detail and design craftsmanship
• AI/LLM product experience
• End-to-end feature ownership
