About this role

The Warehouse / Inventory Specialist is responsible for receiving, checking in, organizing, tracking, maintaining, and distributing company parts and materials. This role is critical to inventory accuracy, technician support, proper stock levels, and keeping the warehouse clean, organized, safe, and efficient.

Requirements

    • Warehouse, inventory, parts, receiving, or related experience preferred

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    • Comfortable using inventory software and entering data accurately

    • Dependable, honest, accountable, and able to follow established processes

    • Ability to communicate clearly with technicians, purchasing, managers, vendors, and coworkers

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform normal warehouse physical duties

    • Ability to work safely around warehouse, shop, yard, receiving, and storage areas

Job Responsibilities

    • Receive incoming parts, materials, and deliveries and verify them against packing slips, purchase orders, invoices, or other receiving documents

    • Verify part numbers, quantities, descriptions, and condition and report damaged, missing, incorrect, or backordered items promptly

    • Accurately check parts into the inventory system and keep inventory records current when parts are received, moved, picked, staged, or issued

    • Put parts away in the correct bin, shelf, rack, or warehouse location and maintain accurate labels and inventory locations

    • Pick and stage the correct parts and quantities for technicians, jobs, projects, or work orders and maintain an organized will call area

    • Prevent parts from being removed or issued without proper documentation and system updates

    • Perform cycle counts and inventory checks, research discrepancies, and assist with full physical inventory counts

    • Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and communicate low stock, overstock, slow-moving, obsolete, or incorrect inventory levels

    • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient warehouse, receiving area, storage area, and will call area

    • Communicate inventory and receiving issues early so they do not create delays for technicians or projects

Knowledge skill & abilities

    • Basic understanding of warehouse and inventory control processes

    • Ability to accurately compare parts to purchase orders, packing slips, and inventory records

    • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use an inventory management system

    • Strong recordkeeping, organization, and follow-through

    • Ability to research inventory discrepancies and identify the cause before making adjustments

    • Ability to prioritize receiving, picking, will call, inventory counts, and other warehouse tasks

    • Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions when information is unclear

    • Strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, accountability, and protecting company inventory
