Primary Role and Responsibilities

  • Electrical & Circuit Design: Design and characterize analog/mixed-signal circuits for implantable device applications, including simulation, statistical validation, and manufacturing test development.
  • Systems Integration: Support electrical and systems architecture across implant and external hardware (e.g., wireless communication, charging, programming interfaces).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Mechanical Engineering, Firmware/Software, Clinical, and Regulatory teams to deliver an integrated system.
  • V&V & Regulatory Support: Author subsystem-level requirements, execute verification and validation testing, and support FDA regulatory submissions in compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601-1/-1-2, and IEC 62304.
  • Reliability & Manufacturing Readiness: Support DFM/DFA efforts and manufacturing test development.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's a plus).
  • 7+ years of electrical engineering experience, with experience in Class III active implantable medical devices strongly preferred
  • Solid analog/mixed-signal circuit design experience (simulation, characterization, statistical validation)
  • Experience with the full product development lifecycle
  • Proficiency with tools such as LTspice, oscilloscope/multimeter/impedance analyzer, or relevant simulation/modeling software
  • Familiarity with FDA regulatory pathways and standards including ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601, and IEC 62304 a plus
  • Comfortable working across hardware/software/systems boundaries and collaborating with cross-functional device teams
Salary$175,000—$230,000 USD
