Data Center Operation - Engineer
About this role
ECL seeks a Data Center Engineer to maintain mission-critical infrastructure at a cutting-edge hydrogen-powered, off-grid data center in Mountain View. You'll oversee electrical systems, advanced cooling technologies, and ensure 99.999% uptime through rigorous procedural execution, change management, and compliance in a 24/7 operational environment.
What you'll do
- Operate and maintain UPS systems, switchgear, transformers, PDUs, generators, fuel cells, and battery energy storage systems
- Monitor and maintain critical cooling systems including liquid cooling, rear-door heat exchangers, and direct-to-chip technologies
- Draft, review, and execute maintenance and operating procedures (MOPs/SOPs/EOPs) with strict change management discipline
- Validate system redundancy health and restoration following maintenance events
- Support incident response, emergency recovery exercises, and disaster recovery planning
- Maintain audit-ready documentation, as-built diagrams, and compliance with SOC 2 / ISO 27001 standards
