Design Engineer

About this role

EliseAI is seeking a Design Engineer to be their first dedicated frontend/design hire, bridging design and engineering to establish a cohesive design system and deliver polished, accessible user interfaces across their AI-powered housing and healthcare platforms. You'll own the end-to-end user experience, from translating Figma designs to pixel-perfect code while shaping how the product evolves from concept to launch.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain a scalable design system with documentation and cross-team adoption
• Translate Figma designs into accessible, performant, and visually consistent interfaces
• Design and implement UI interactions, micro-interactions, and responsive behaviors
• Partner with design, product, and engineering to align on requirements and feasibility
• Refactor existing surfaces to implement the design system and unify visual language
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure components ship with intended fidelity
