Founding Data Engineer

About this role

FLORA is seeking a founding Data Engineer to build their data infrastructure and analytics from the ground up. You'll design data models, set up warehousing pipelines, define key metrics, and create dashboards that inform product decisions—working directly with leadership as the first data hire.

What you'll do

• Audit and optimize existing PostHog telemetry and event tracking
• Design data models and implement robust metadata collection systems
• Build and maintain data warehousing and ETL pipelines
• Evaluate and select BI tools and core data technologies
• Create executive dashboards tracking activation, engagement, and growth metrics
• Collaborate with growth engineering on tracking instrumentation and schema design

What they're looking for

• SQL (expert level)
• Data platform expertise (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar)
• Data pipeline and infrastructure design
• BI tool implementation and dashboard development
• Python (preferred)
• PostHog analytics platform
• Product analytics and metrics definition
• A/B testing and experimental design
