About this role
Epic Games is seeking a Tools Programmer Intern to join the Build Operations team in Cary, NC, developing internal tools and workflows that enhance developer productivity across Fortnite, Unreal Engine, and other products. You'll work on build systems, testing infrastructure, telemetry, and developer tools while collaborating with engineering and content teams to improve game development operations.
What you'll do
- Develop and enhance internal tools and platforms used by Epic's engineering teams
- Write unit and functional tests to ensure tool quality and reliability
- Implement telemetry instrumentation and create data visualizations for tool usage analytics
- Build and optimize workflows for Unreal Editor, Fortnite Editor, and related products
- Collaborate with QA and developers to streamline processes and improve developer experience
- Partner across engineering and content teams to solve technical challenges impacting build stability
