Substrate IC Package Layout Design Engineer
About this role
Etched is seeking an experienced IC Package Layout Design Engineer to lead the design of complex, high-power substrate packages for AI accelerators, supporting extreme power delivery (700W+) and high-speed signaling (50GHz+). You'll optimize large multi-layer substrates and CoWoS interposers while collaborating with silicon, SI/PI, and manufacturing teams.
What you'll do
- Design complex IC substrate layouts (>50mm) with high pin counts and dense routing for AI processors
- Develop robust power delivery networks supporting 700W+ custom silicon with optimized substrate routing
- Create high-speed signal routing solutions at 50GHz+ while minimizing crosstalk and signal loss
- Collaborate with SI/PI engineers to define and implement signal and power integrity requirements
- Optimize CoWoS interposer designs for thermal and electrical performance in coordination with chip and packaging teams
- Perform DRC/LVS verification, maintain design documentation, and mentor junior engineers
