About this role

Eventual is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Data Systems team and contribute to building infrastructure for processing massive datasets used in Physical AI and robotics. You'll be instrumental in designing and implementing storage, querying, and dataloading capabilities for petabytes of video, lidar, and telemetry data, directly impacting model training and real-time inference.

What you'll do

  • Develop and optimize multimodal storage solutions using data lake formats like Apache Parquet and Iceberg.
  • Build powerful query engines with advanced features like partitioning, indexing, and vector search.
  • Enhance dataloading performance with zero-copy data flow and GPU-accelerated tensor delivery.
  • Contribute to building real-time indexing of perception/robotics data.
  • Work on distributed storage/compute infrastructure.
  • Improve memory stability and throughput in data pipelines.
