Growth Engineer

About this role

Exa, a $2.2B AI search engine startup, is hiring a Growth Engineer to drive customer acquisition through creative technical solutions. You'll build paid acquisition systems, optimize landing pages for SEO, create viral developer tools, and leverage Exa's own API for growth infrastructure that competitors can't replicate.

What you'll do

• Design and launch paid acquisition campaigns while managing budget allocation decisions
• Build SEO and AEO-optimized landing pages that generate qualified pipeline
• Create viral products and tools within the developer community
• Develop automated systems that scale growth initiatives without manual intervention
• Use Exa's Search API to build targeting infrastructure and research capabilities
• Run rapid experiments and convert winning concepts into sustainable systems

• Full-stack engineering or scripting (Claude Code proficiency preferred)
• Growth marketing and paid acquisition strategy
• SEO and AEO optimization
• Data analysis and attribution modeling
• API integration and automation
• Creative problem-solving and experimentation
• Product sense and user psychology
• Ability to wear multiple hats across marketing, engineering, and strategy
