About this role
fab2 is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Austin, focused on the design and production of precision, high-vacuum, and automated systems for chip fabrication. This hands-on role involves collaborating with design engineers from concept to production, owning the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, and continuously improving manufacturing processes to ensure quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a strong problem-solver with experience across various manufacturing disciplines.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with design engineers on manufacturability and design reviews.
- Own the NPI process and establish repeatable production workflows.
- Design and build fixtures and tooling for improved assembly and fabrication.
- Track quality issues, implement corrective actions, and optimize processes.
- Develop work instructions and process documentation.
- Lead root-cause investigations for build failures and defects.
