What you'll do
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable data pipelines on Databricks and Airflow from requirements through production
- Monitor and optimize data workflow performance by identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements
- Lead design and code reviews to establish quality standards across the team's data engineering work
- Own operational excellence for production batch and near-real-time pipelines including monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Partner with analytics, data science, and engineering teams to drive platform adoption and enforce data governance
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance
What they're looking for
- Apache Airflow or comparable orchestration platforms (3+ years)
- Python for data engineering (3+ years)
- Databricks or distributed data platforms with Delta Lake (3+ years)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with infrastructure knowledge
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
- Git workflows and CI/CD practices
- Data modeling and ETL/ELT pipeline design
- Data quality and observability tools (preferred)
