About this role

Field AI is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and implement electrical systems for autonomous robotics hardware, including power distribution, PCB design, wire harnesses, and communication networks. You'll work across the full lifecycle from design through field deployment, collaborating with mechanical and compute teams to build reliable systems for complex real-world environments.

What you'll do

  • Design power architectures including voltage regulation, DC/DC converters, and grounding schemes
  • Create PCB schematics, layouts, and wire harness designs using CAD tools
  • Design and validate communication systems including Ethernet, USB, CAN, and wireless protocols
  • Conduct electrical testing for power validation, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance
  • Collaborate with mechanical, sensor, and compute teams to integrate electrical systems
  • Support manufacturing QA, field debugging, and deployment of electrical systems

What they're looking for

  • Power systems design and low-voltage regulation
  • PCB design using KiCAD or Altium
  • Wire harness and connector design
  • Communication protocols (USB, Ethernet, CAN, I2C, GMSL, WiFi, 5G)
  • Electrical testing tools (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, EMI/EMC equipment)
  • Signal integrity and EMI/EMC analysis
  • Systems-level integration and cross-functional collaboration
  • Technical documentation and electrical schematic creation
