About this role
Fieldguide is hiring Software Engineers at all levels to help modernize cybersecurity, privacy, and audit software for global commerce. You'll design and ship high-impact features while collaborating cross-functionally, with opportunities to grow into leadership and technical strategy roles depending on experience.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and deliver high-quality features that drive customer and business impact
- Collaborate with product and design teams to solve complex problems with user-focused solutions
- Balance iteration speed with long-term maintainability and system reliability
- Improve tech stack, developer workflows, and engineering practices
- Lead complex projects and mentor engineers (senior/staff levels)
- Drive technical initiatives and define architecture standards (staff level)

- Software engineering fundamentals and production code experience
- TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, and GraphQL
- Writing maintainable, well-tested, and observable code
- Technical judgment around tradeoffs, reliability, and performance
- Clear communication and ownership mindset
- Cross-functional collaboration and influence
- Mentoring and domain expertise (senior/staff levels)
- Audit, assurance, or risk management familiarity (nice-to-have)
