IT Engineer, Internal AI Infrastructure
About this role
Figma is seeking an IT Engineer to design and build the infrastructure layer for internal AI applications across the company. You'll create shared hosting platforms, model routing systems, and observability tools that enable safe, auditable AI use across business functions while partnering closely with security, IT, and product teams.
What you'll do
- Design and build hosting infrastructure for internal AI apps, bots, and agents with support for long-running workflows and scheduled jobs
- Develop model routing layer that directs tasks across LLMs based on cost, capability, and policy with complete audit trails
- Implement observability, usage analytics, audit logging, and cost attribution systems for AI workloads company-wide
- Integrate identity, access, and security patterns (Okta) to ensure internal AI apps meet security requirements from day one
- Collaborate with product AI infrastructure teams to share gateways and telemetry infrastructure
- Shape platform strategy, roadmap, and engineering best practices as a founding member of the infrastructure pillar
