Open Source Developer

About this role

Figma seeks an Open Source Developer to build and scale open-source frameworks and developer tools that enable teams to create and manage digital experiences collaboratively. You'll design extensible front-end systems, lead 0→1 open source initiatives, and represent Figma in the developer community while working with modern web technologies.

What you'll do

• Design and ship high-quality features using TypeScript/JavaScript and React with strong performance and polish
• Lead open source projects from conception through launch, documentation, maintenance, and community engagement
• Architect scalable front-end systems supporting complex data, real-time collaboration, and enterprise workflows
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Marketing, and Developer Relations teams
• Mentor teammates and drive engineering excellence through code reviews and knowledge sharing
