Software Engineer, Code Platform

About this role

Figma is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Code Platform team, building infrastructure that seamlessly translates between design, code, and AI-powered workflows. You'll develop core systems for design-to-code translation, integrate LLMs into products, and work on strategically important abstractions at the intersection of design, engineering, and AI.

What you'll do

• Design and build code ↔ design translation pipelines with AI-powered and agentic workflows
• Build and iterate on LLM integrations for code generation, design interpretation, and feature surfaces
• Create evaluation frameworks for AI-generated code quality, correctness, and fidelity
• Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks affecting product SLAs
• Improve correctness and fidelity across complex design systems and edge cases
• Partner with product leads on long-term platform strategy and architectural direction

• TypeScript/JavaScript and modern frontend development
• React, JSX, or similar declarative UI systems
• ASTs, code transformation, and compilation concepts
• LLM integration and AI model product shipping experience
• Performance debugging and pipeline latency optimization
• Cross-team platform and infrastructure engineering
• Prompt engineering and model evaluation (preferred)
• Code generation models and agentic workflows (preferred)
