About this role
Figure, an AI robotics company, seeks an Electrical Validation Engineer to lead the bring-up and validation of advanced robotic hand subsystems. You'll own electrical and mechatronic testing from prototypes through production, debugging cross-disciplinary issues and driving design improvements for humanoid robots.
What you'll do
- Lead electrical and mechatronic bring-up of hand subsystem including actuators, motor drives, PCBAs, sensors, and power distribution
- Plan and execute subsystem and system-level validation testing for performance, power consumption, and thermal characteristics
- Develop and automate validation workflows and test setups covering full range of motion, load cases, and environmental conditions
- Debug complex hardware, firmware, and controls issues using telemetry, oscilloscopes, DAQs, and thermal instrumentation
- Lead root-cause analysis for reliability and durability issues; collaborate on design and process improvements
- Build Python-based data logging, visualization, and analysis tools; define KPIs for fleet health tracking

- Electrical and mechatronic systems validation (5+ years)
- Power delivery, motor drives, actuator control, and sensing
- Python automation, data acquisition, and analysis
- Lab instrumentation: oscilloscopes, power analyzers, DAQs, thermal sensors
- Hardware and firmware debugging in integrated systems
- Control-system tuning and performance optimization
- Communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, EtherCAT, Ethernet)
- Linux and embedded development environments
