Security Engineer, Application Security

About this role

Figure, an AI robotics company developing humanoid robots, seeks a Security Engineer to protect their robot platform and backend services. The role involves conducting security assessments, designing mitigation solutions, and building frameworks to prevent vulnerabilities across embedded systems and cloud infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Conduct security assessments of applications, embedded systems, backend services, and integrations
• Design and implement technical solutions to mitigate security weaknesses
• Build frameworks and systems to prevent classes of vulnerabilities
• Hunt for vulnerabilities and insecure coding patterns in product stack
• Develop tooling for secure development lifecycle
• Champion security and user privacy across the organization

• Application security (penetration testing, vulnerability research, security assessment)
• Secure coding practices and security architecture
• Embedded systems security (secure boot, secure identity, OTA)
• Strong software engineering in C/C++, Rust, Golang, or Python
• Web security, mobile security, or cryptography
• Hardware security experience
• Cross-team collaboration and independent problem-solving
• Technical communication and documentation
