AI Field Engineer - Enterprise

About this role

Fireworks seeks an AI Field Engineer to embed with enterprise customers and build production AI systems end-to-end. You'll combine hands-on engineering work—shipping POCs, running benchmarks, architecting deployments—with executive stakeholder management and translating customer needs into product improvements.

What you'll do

• Build end-to-end POCs and MVPs with customers, working in their codebases and infrastructure
• Architect inference foundations and size deployments for customers whose products rely on GenAI
• Run load tests, establish performance baselines, and tune deployments for latency, throughput, and cost targets
• Guide customers on model selection, fine-tuning strategies, and evaluation methodologies
• Lead discovery conversations and manage executive relationships across customer organizations
• Identify recurring pain points and propose concrete product improvements to engineering and product teams

• LLM inference and deployment (vLLM, SGLang, or similar frameworks)
• Production system architecture and scaling
• Model fine-tuning methodologies (SFT, DPO, RFT)
• Performance benchmarking and load testing
