San Mateo, CA$200k–$260kmidAdded 2 days ago

About this role

Fireworks seeks an AI Field Engineer to be the technical lead for its Microsoft Foundry partnership, working with Azure teams, ISVs, and systems integrators to embed Fireworks as the inference layer in enterprise AI architectures. You'll split time between building POCs and production deployments, guiding model strategy, and translating partner feedback into product improvements.

What you'll do

  • Lead co-sell motions with Microsoft on reference architectures, Azure Foundry integrations, and POCs for strategic accounts
  • Build end-to-end POCs and MVPs with partner engineering teams, working within their infrastructure and constraints
  • Run load tests and performance baselines against realistic customer traffic, optimizing deployments for latency and cost targets
  • Guide customers on model selection, fine-tuning strategies (SFT, DPO, RFT), and evaluation methodologies
  • Surface partner-driven product gaps to engineering and translate roadmap into partner messaging
  • Ship technical content including reference architectures, integration guides, and benchmark analyses

What they're looking for

  • 3+ years in pre-sales, partner engineering, or forward-deployed technical roles
  • Production Python development with Kubernetes and infrastructure engineering experience
  • LLM inference optimization: latency/throughput tradeoffs, batching, quantization, structured outputs, function calling
  • Fine-tuning experience with LoRA and ideally RFT; understanding of SFT limitations
  • Deep Azure AI stack knowledge: Azure Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure ML, AKS, Entra/RBAC
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to executive audiences
  • Experience deploying inference frameworks like vLLM and SGLang
  • Multi-stakeholder relationship management in enterprise environments
